10 Scents to Get You in the Mood

Aromatherapy and scented oils have been used since ancient times as aphrodisiacs. Try using scented candles or an oil diffuser next time you want to get your partner in the mood.

Not all scents work for everyone, so try a few to make sure it works for both of you.

1. Vanilla - a great scent to arouse both men and women. Add vanilla scented candles to your home. Burn these to arouse your partner, or to suggest that you are in the mood.

2. Rose - said to specifically arouse female partners. Fill the bedroom with roses and their scent to add to her arousal.

3. Lavender - a soothing scent. Lavender allows partners to relax and take their time in sex. Try planting lavender outside your bedroom window for added spring spirit.

4. Citrus - lemon, orange or lime scents can bring freshness to the atmosphere. Surprise your partner in the shower with a citrus scented body wash.

5. Jasmine - for both men and women. Jasmine incenses, oils and washes are readily available to choose from. A cone of Jasmine incense in the bedroom will add its scent, and avoid smelling like jasmine.

6. Yland-ylang - reported to have a sexually arousing, exotic scent. Ylang-ylang is often added to creams and hair products. Try products that contain ylang-ylang to see if this powerful scent gets you started!

7. Ginger - as a scent (or as a food) boost energy and libido levels. Serve your partner aromatic ginger tea before engaging in sex.

8. Sandalwood - works with your own body to heighten sexual arousal. Try using a sandalwood oil cologne or perfume to keep yourself and your partner aroused.

9. Basil - said to arouse the basic sexual desires. Use basil to reinvigorate a lagging sexual relationship as massage oil. Basil is not just for cooking anymore.

10. Almond - is said to help arouse women. This may be linked to earthy musk of almonds. Use almond oil or cream on your body before engaging in sex with your female partner.

Using scents in your sex life can add variety to the routine. You may find that changing the scents will trigger different results. Focusing on male oriented scents to supercharge a male partner. This will create a different union than when you focus on female scents. Choose scents for both men and women when you are looking for that special night to remember.
