Breasts and especially nipples are considered to be a powerful erogenous zone for both men and women. The majority of women experience sexual arousal through stimulation of their nipples, that is when their partner is kissing, caressing, sucking, licking or simply blowing on the nipples. Researches show that approximately one out of three women have experienced an orgasm from nipple and breast stimulation at some point in their lives.

The tissue constituting nipples contains a great number of nerve endings that make this area especially sensitive to touch plus nipple stimulation also causes oxytocin release which leads to orgasm in some humans, mostly in women.

For some women, however, their nipple and the surrounding area are too sensitive and they therefore do not enjoy someone touching it. But in general breast and nipple stimulation can be a part of foreplay leading to other sexual stimulation that subsequently helps women achieve their climax.

There has been evidence that some women experience not orgasm but definitely some pleasant sensations and even mild arousal when breastfeeding their baby. This again is not uncommon due to the hormone oxytocin, sometimes also called the hormone of happiness.

There is a whole range of sex toys that are suitable for nipple stimulation, the most popular among them are nipple clamps. Touching one's breasts and nipples with a vibrator can also lead to arousal and pleasing sensations. Most couples limit their erotic play to gentle pinching, biting or sucking the nipples of the partner.

As it has already been mentioned, virtually no sexually active adult is unresponsive to nipple or breast stimulation.
